DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
  1. Development and design of low-temperature compressor-based refrigeration appliances (mechanically refrigerated equipment)
  2. Construction and development of special stands for laboratory thermal tests of air-conditioners, heat pumps, as well as building elements
  3. Making thermal-flow calculations of refrigeration exchangers based on ammonia and CFC, HCFC or HFC such as heat exchangers of following types:
    • Air coolers - finned-tube heat-exchangers
    • Shell-and-tube liquid chilling packages
    • Condensers - finned-tube heat-exchangers
    • Double-pipe vapour condensers
  4. Development and design of climatic chambers, thermo-climatic and laboratory cabinets, and low-temperature freezers (temperature-variable chambers, chambers with humidity adjustments)
  5. Making strength calculations of valves, tanks, and pressure installations.
  6. Development of opinions and expertise concerning refrigeration and air-conditioning
  7. Development and analysis of research results
Conceptual-research activity:
  1. Theoretical and experimental research concerning low-temperature single-stage cycle using mixtures of refrigerants.
  2. Construction optimization of heat exchangers for the refrigeration field as concerns conservation of energy and materials.
  3. Research of substitution of CFC, HCFC, HFC with substances of natural origin.
  4. Theoretical and experimental research concerning the application of new cooling mediums. Experimental testing concerning applications of the R508B medium.
  5. Elaboration of algorithms for strength calculations of valves intended for use in cooling installations.
  6. Experimental verification of the chamber method of measurements of air flow in refrigerating equipment fan type exchangers.
  7. Development of testing procedures for refrigerating units used in vehicles.
  8. Development of method and procedures for thermal tests of refrigerated counter.
